Mixing Opposites

Take a mixture of fresh pineapple (include the crushed fruit if you want), ketchup (catsup if you prefer), apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, garlic, onion, plus a lot of sugar.

Add some cornstarch to make it thicker plus the result is a beautiful sweet & sour sauce that can be added into any number of delicious dishes and entrees.

I’m not a fan of the Chinese Communist Party however if there is a real “General Tso,” then he has my deep admiration. In this case, the opposing flavors go quite well together however there are a few examples where opposites mix well. Salt plus pepper is another opposing culinary pair that the two of us enjoy. Dogs plus cats can live quite peacefully under the same roof. Saints plus sinners often marry each other plus as the two of us assume from watching the movie “The Odd Couple”, even slobs plus neat freaks can find a common ground. In the 1971s, a single of the more pressing pairings of opposites occurred when the home’s heating system was combined with a compressor plus indoor evaporator unit to form a total and complete unit that could moderate the loft in freezing weather plus keep it cool during the sizzling warm seasons. Central Heating plus Air Conditioning systems eventually came to be the norm, replacing a stand-alone heating system plus a single or more window A/C units. Any homeowner could now control the indoor temperature with a single thermostat that regulated both heating plus cooling. The result was cleaner air, improved circulation, plus reduced ambient noise because the noisy compressor unit could be sited some distance away from where the renters were located. The future use of Heating plus Air Conditioning is likely to include greater automation plus smart thermostat controls, refrigerants that are more “green” and friendly to the environment, plus more developments with geothermal energy. The only thing that will remain the same is the constant need for homes to be kept comfortable all year round.
