Last winter, we planned to go on a skiing vacation.
However, our plans changed when grandma called.
She wanted to see her grandkids and wasn’t willing to listen to any excuses. Our parents knew she’d get hurt if they refused to honor her wishes. So, they spoke to us, and we all agreed to go to grandma’s house for the holidays. There were many things to change, including the flight tickets. The airline was overbooked, and so there was little they could do to change our tickets. This meant traveling to her home via road. We had a good 4 by 4, which would ride nicely in the snow and ice. Dad and I alternated driving until we got to grandma’s place. She was waiting eagerly for us with hot cocoa and some marshmallows. We got settled and noticed an issue with the air conditioning. Though the AC system was on and warming the space, it wasn’t efficient. There were certain areas in the house not receiving ample warm air. Grandma explained that it had been going on for some time. Dad guessed there was something wrong with the HVAC system and contacted an AC servicing and repair company near grandma’s home. The AC repair person arrived a few hours later, apologizing since they were short-staffed. He checked the system and noticed it had a filthy air filter that needed to be replaced. Dad asked the AC repair person if there was a better air filter. The expert said he could install a HEPA filter which was the best for improved indoor air quality. Dad agreed, and the AC repair person replaced the aging air filter with it.
