A fireplace for my brother-in-law to help with indoor comfort

I was about to embark on my first renovation project as an interior designer and the idea was to transform the traditional home and give it a contemporary touch while still maintaining a traditional touch to it.

  • It was my first job as a professional interior designer and I would not want to disappoint my brother-in-law who owned the house.

We had earlier had a meeting with a heating technician to find out which whole home heating would be best suited weighing the pros and cons. The decision was between a ductless HVAC or a dual fuel system. My brother-in-law Theo had rejected an electric furnace because he wanted heating equipment that was more economical in terms of electricity consumption. A central heater was out of the question since the house already had central heating and Theo wanted something new. The heating dealership was also going to deliver a new wireless thermostat to go with the new system and establish an HVAC service plan that would be followed in the future. Having heating maintenance would reduce the number of times you would need an HVAC repairman. I also wanted to add a gas fireplace to help with indoor comfort and also to add to the ambiance in the living room. I had run all my ideas through Theo and he had given me his vote of confidence and I was very excited to see it all come together. It would not just be good for my bank balance but it would be something I would add to my portfolio and use to market my skills.
