It was essentially a nightmare when I was back in university and stayed with roommates for the initial year.
Every one of us had an oil furnace and that oil was overpriced too. I honestly couldn’t believe that the oil didn’t last especially long because halfway through the nippy season, every one of us had to fill it up again and I felt like I was consistently broke… Also, I was fighting with the others about the temperature control settings and about everybody having to do their tolerable share when it came to chores. I was always yelling at the others when it was their turn to wash the powder room and things similar to that, and none of us were able to get along and it seemed every one of us were all hellbent on moving out. I was honestly the first to get out of there as soon as the lease was up. I guess everybody except for 1 roommate made the choice to stay there and he just got new roommates. Who knows how things went for those guys, however I can’t imagine they would have been gleeful with that outdated oil furnace that was so expensive to operate. After that I moved into a fairly cheap apartment, but it was so wonderful compared to residing with those guys. My energy bills were significantly cheaper and it was so much easier to focus on my university studies. With having the most enjoyable temperature control settings, I was able to land myself into a fantastic job because I honestly stayed focused through my university afternoons. I stayed in the apartment for long enough to cover the cost for buying a new property. My property is pretty nice I must say with the most incredible Heating and Air Conditioning system that is also energy efficient.
