The central nervous system in the human body plays a role in many aspects of our well-being, especially our overall mood.
There are many factors that lead to feeling worried or anxious, and work, money, family, relationships, time management, and health are just some examples of normal stressors, however studies show that weather conditions plays a big role in our overall well-being and health, and climate can affect our physical health, and our mental and emotional health.
Cold weather conditions can lead to depression, due to the lack of sunlight, hot temperatures can lead to irritability, due to rising temperatures and discomfort, but luckily, studies show that proper heating and cooling can have a positive impact on overall health, and has calming effects. I will describe more than one scenario to help you understand how heating and cooling can be calming on the body and mind. Here is the first scenario: Tom lives up north and the winters are brutal, and on one very cold day, Tom had to work late. By the time he got out of work, it was pitch black outside. His car windshield was frozen, and he blasted the heat in the car, waiting for it to heat up. He was shivering cold, and when he got home and got out of the car the brutal, cold air hit his body again causing him to feel sad and stressed simultaneously. He entered his heated house, with radiant heated floors and a fireplace. He instantly felt calm. Scenario two: Brenda lives in the south and the summers are very hot. One summer afternoon, she was going out to eat with her boyfriend. They had to wait outside in the heat because the eating establishment was packed. Brenda felt irritable, and as soon as they went inside in the air conditioner, she felt calm.
