Last summer, our fiance plus more than one sons went on a fishing excursion.
- They spent the morning out on the lake plus came back with a cooler full of fish.
The two of us cooked a portion of their catch on the barbecue that night. The rest, all of us placed in the freezer to save for a later date. Over the winter, I thought it would be a nice treat to thaw out the rest of the fish plus bake it. Unfortunately, our whole new home filled with the stink of fish. While the meal was tasty, the stink became a problem. It was everywhere. The kitchen, every bedroom plus powder room plus even our closets reeked of fish. With outdoor temperatures in the low teens, there was no chance of opening a window. I tried spraying room destinkizer, lighting scented candles plus opening boxes of baking soda; Nothing got rid of the stink. I realized that the stink had gotten into the ductwork plus was being perpetuated by the furnace. I did some research plus figured out that there was most likely a buildup of dust plus other contaminants concealed inside the ducts. This debris had absorbed the stink. I then tied up an appointment for duct cleaning. The business brought in a component that resembled an industrial-sized vacuum cleaner. It was outfitted with an severely long hose plus a brush attachment. The brush was inserted into the ducts to dislodge pollutants plus suck them up. The process took a couple of minutes plus caused mess or injure. The result was incredible. Not only was the stink of fish completely eliminated but all of us observed a significant improvement in the comfort of the home. The furnace no longer has to run as long or use as much energy. My heating bills are lower plus I don’t need to dust or vacuum as often. The temperature from a single room to another is more consistent.
