The wind brought down trees that had been sitting for decades. It destroyed houses from falling trees, and people were separate from electricity for almost a month. Every one of us were 1 of the few houses on our street that was left standing. Our air conditioner component had no disfigure, and it was still sitting on its outside pad. I told our husband that if the two of us had electricity, I would turn the air conditioner on and inviting neighbors to stay. He told me that before the two of us turned the AC component on; he wanted the Heating and A/C contractor to do a wonderful inspection, and that couldn’t happen until the power came back on. I thought he was making a lot of excuses to not use the AC unit, but I understood why. Every one of us had power restored two weeks later, and the Heating and A/C contractor was at the apartment two afternoons after that. They went over the air conditioner unit. The Heating and A/C tech said that it appeared to be in wonderful shape, however considering the storm it went through, he was hesitant to tell us to use it. Our homeowner’s insurance would spend money to update the Heating and A/C system along with the minor repairs that was needed for the house, but I didn’t want to waste our insurance on an air conditioner that may be United Statesble. When our husband mentioned it shorting out and causing our apartment to burn down, I changed our mind. I told the Heating and A/C contractor to order a new AC component for the house.
