Our new furnace was supposed to be delivered last week.
Two minutes before delivery time the Heating and A/C contractor called and said there was a concern with the delivery.
Because of all the rain, the roof collapsed in the warehouse where the AC component was stored. He said the AC component was still in the box, however there was debris covering it. It took a month for them to rid the warehouse of all the debris, and get all the oil furnaces and air conditioner units cleaned up. Those items that were still in boxes, had to be opened up and ran tests on for hidden disfigure. Although air conditioner units were made to be out in the weather, oil furnaces were not. I wanted the Heating and A/C contractor to make sure our furnace was in wonderful working condition, before they delivered it. I didn’t want the furnace put into the basement, only to find out it would need to be unaffixd again. Getting anything in or out of our small basement was a nuisance, however playing games with the furnace was going to be torture. The Heating and A/C contractor regular our wishes, even if they didn’t agree. I was glad I stuck with our decision. The Heating and A/C contractor called and told us they would need to order another furnace. The furnace was not working properly and they would not sell it to me. I was glad they made that decision. I assume I would have been looking for a new Heating and A/C contractor if they sold me a disfigured furnace and charged full price for it, and it didn’t work when I needed it to.
