Back when I was in high school, which was almost thirty years ago now, there wasn’t any a/c in the buildings at all. I used to have to go to school whenever the temperatures outside were in the 90s. They never let us out of school due to heat advisories or anything like that, and kids these days definitely don’t know how wonderful they have it. I know that just sounds like something that old people say, however that’s definitely how it is these days. I remember being so tepid when I was in class in the afternoons that it was nearly impossible to stay awake after breakfast. I hated the fact that there was no a/c in the school buildings when I was growing up. I thought that it was ridiculous that nobody had a/c in the schools down there in the south where I used to live. The temperatures are definitely terrible during the summer time plus early fall in the south plus people just don’t seem to understand the need for central a/c in schools. I don’t know why people seem to guess that youngsters don’t need a/c as much as adults do. I constantly had a definitely tough time concentrating in school anyway, even when it wasn’t super tepid outside. Having no a/c made it more than 2 times worse plus it was rough being in class. I’m excited that most of the schools around here where the two of us live now actually do have a/c in most of the classrooms. It makes life much easier.
