I’ve lived in the same area our entire life.
I was born up North, but my parents moved to the South very shortly after that.
My body is pretty accustomed to the sizzling temperatures, but it still struggles with the pollen. My flu symptoms feel like they have gotten worse every single year. My parents have constantly been honestly good about swapping out the air filters in the heating and A/C system, upgrading our whole-house air purifier, and even keeping an air filter in my bedroom for extra protection while I’m sleeping. My flu symptoms are the worst when I am waking up in the morning, so I guess the small air purification system honestly helps with that. I recently discovered that for the furnace, radiant floor heating could honestly be a better option than the central heater. Central oil gas furnaces blow heated air through the HVAC ducts plus out of the air vents… Since the oil gas furnaces aren’t used that much throughout the year, they can tend to build up a lot of gunk and that blows out with the sizzling air, and radiant heated flooring eliminates the need for air vents because it simply radiates heat into the room it is in. This would be enjoyable for our flu symptoms since I wouldn’t be breathing in any pollutants or built-up gunk. I’m not sure if swapping out the plan in their house would be doable at this point, however it’s honestly something that I would love to keep in mind for the future. I would love to buy a home sometime in the next few years.
