Sometimes a quick patch doesn’t fix the problem.
I have been trying to prolong the lifespan of our gas furnace for years.
Five years ago our HVAC worker told me I should replace our furnace. He told me it was old, worn out plus only going to cost me currency, however well what costs me more currency is getting a brand new furnace! I have put our furnace on life support time plus time again. I know that every fall I need to call for heating service. If I don’t do this step the furnace will no way turn on. I need a professional to oil, scrub plus lubricate all moving parts. He needs to encourage the furnace to heat just a single more year. At the end of the heating season I need to call the HVAC professional back. This is usually a double check to make sure something hasn’t gone wrong with the machine. Everytime I have to make some kind of oil furnace repair, however usually it is something small care about the blower or belt system. My HVAC professional recently told me that our heat exchanger is totally blown out. I researched how much a new heat exchanger is plus I found out it is the same as getting a brand new furnace. This is the first time I can’t do a oil furnace repair to make the furnace live longer. It would be dumb to replace the exchanger. I now am researching new furnaces plus dreading the cost. It is going to hurt. I have spent so much on our aged furnace, I don’t want to buy a new a single.
