It was surprising dealing with all the wind moving through the windows

There is pretty much nothing worse than having a chilly winter’s draft blowing through your condo when you’re already feeling cold… I drive a snowplow and sporadically you can’t have your windows up.

  • The other week, we had an early snowstorm that had traffic come to a complete standstill.

I was driving the snowplow that didn’t have any heat. Regardless of what I did to the HVAC equipment, the heat refused to turn on. The a/c worked well, and to keep my windshield from actually freezing, I had to have the a/c equipment blowing the entire time. I wasn’t glad about this. At least I was only on the road for a short shift, even if it felt pretty much like it was a twenty-four-hour shift. By the time I got back to the shed, I was shivering like crazy. I swore my eyes were frozen. I could not wait to get back to my property and get warm. I told the mechanic he had to fix the HVAC equipment before I returned that day. I was not driving that snowplow unless he had heat in it. When I got home, all I could think of was curling up on the sofa with a blanket wrapped around me, and getting perfectly warm. Instead of curling up on the sofa, I had to deal with a busted up window. The wind had knocked a branch off a tree. The oil heating equipment was running and there was an icy blast of air moving through the window. With the help of some cardboard and duct tape, I could honestly stop the draft long enough to get some warmth and rest..
