Although I always imagined my friend and I would get to spend time together again, I didn’t imagine it would be this way.
It is funny how some things work out.
My friend and I have been planning to meet up for some time now, but it always seems like something gets in the way. Our last few meet ups have been canceled for one reason or another. However, a few days ago I got a call, and it was my friend. We talked for a few minutes before she asked if she could stay over. This was a shock, we hadn’t even seen each other in years, not to mention it was 10 pm at night. I had to think about it for a minute, but I figured why not, this would probably be one of the only times we get to see each other again without interruption. My friend arrived about an hour later and that is when I got the whole story. She told me that she needed a place to stay because her heating device was currently being repaired. Without the heating unit warming up her home, her home would have dropped to dangerously low temperatures. Although she could have stayed at a hotel for her heating needs, she thought staying at my place would be better, and it would give us time to catch up. I turned my heating machine all of the way up, handed her a blanket and also gave her a mug of hot cocoa. We shared stories and laughed, for a little while it was like we were kids again, and that we had never parted ways.
