I got into the shower one morning and I ran out of hot water halfway through my shower. I never thought for a minute that the issue might be the water heater. I figured one of the kids took a long shower and I had to wait for the water to fill back up. I waited about a half an hour and I got back in the shower. Unfortunately there was still no hot water. I checked the rest of the house and there was no hot water anywhere. The hot water heater was not running. I took the machine apart and removed the thermostat and the heating element. I replaced both of those things. When I did replace the parts of the hot water heater, I noticed that the bottom was very rusty and falling apart. At this point, I decided to contact a local plumbing company to get a quote on a new hot water heater. The plumbing company wanted to know if I was interested in a conventional hot water heater or a tankless water heater. I didn’t know the first thing about tankless water heaters, so I thought it would be a good idea to have a contractor come to the house to give me an estimate. The plumbing contractor provided this service absolutely free, so I could get an idea of how much it would cost for both machines.
