Hosting an event for an air conditioning company

I am a host by trade.

My job entails hosting events, so I must always work on public speaking and people skills.

Last summer, an air conditioning company hired me to host their grand opening event. The Covid pandemic and the current state of the economy worldwide have reduced operations and laid off several a/c workers. It would be one of the most significant events I had ever hosted, and I was excited and anxious about it. Even after seven years of doing this, I still got a little nervous before an event, especially with events of such importance. I was glad I had just gotten the indoor comfort business to conduct an air conditioning tune-up on my electric heat pump, so it did a good job cooling my body down. The anxiety was causing my body to burn up. The a/c professional had only changed the AC filters, swapping them out for the high-quality HEPA filters that almost instantly improved the air quality. As per my routine, I reviewed the company’s history again to remind myself. The cooling corporation was about to launch new commercial-quality HVAC systems, which was the second reason for the event. They were optimistic that homeowners would gladly accept the new HVAC installation system and the new air conditioning services. As I drifted to sleep the night before the event, I dreamt that the cooling specialists were working on a ductless mini-split on the stage, and a tool that one of them was using fell on me. I was so startled that I woke up with my heart pounding against my chest. The digital thermostat was also beeping, and I had to wake up and check what was wrong. I reset it to help with indoor comfort. After the nightmare, I meditated and had a somewhat peaceful night. The event was a success; as usual, I hosted it perfectly.
