Previously, I labored in a jacket factory.
I don’t recall there being air conditioning until the previous structure was demolished and the current structure was constructed.
Nearly five years ago, I worked in an old building with only windows on the roof and ceiling fans to remove the heat. I cannot recall ever having complained that the factory was too hot. On occasion, it was necessary to wear a jacket indoors because the ceiling fans and open windows created a chilly environment. When we moved into this building, it was perpetually chilly. In order to prevent the machinery from overheating, they had the air conditioning on, however, one afternoon, the air conditioning stopped functioning. Until I saw a friend leave the building, I did not give it any thought. He stated that the heat was unbearable without air conditioning and that he had to return home. Additionally, he examined a garment press that utilized steam heat. There was nowhere for the heat to escape, and there was no air conditioning. As he observed a friend of his nearly pass out, he grabbed his friend and left the room. Although I doubted it, I wondered if he would be terminated. In addition to being their top presser, he was always busy. He drew the attention of the chief executive. One hour later, a supplier of Heating and Air Conditioning was on-site to repair the air conditioning. If they had waited much longer to acquire a Heating and Air Conditioning supplier, I’m not certain that there wouldn’t have been a mass exodus when the temperature reached 129 degrees.
