Oh man, the only really good thing about being this close to the full on weight of Summer is that we are just that much closer to family vacation. For sure, the next four months from June through September at the most challenging when it comes to dealing with the climate. There is simply no escaping the fact that we are headed for heat season and it’s never a surprise that it can be just overwhelming. We’re talking about the sort of heat and humidity that will have me sweating big time just going from the central air conditioning to the car. And all that air conditioning in the car from the house to the parking garage at work isn’t enough. The walk to the elevators or around the block to the commercial HVAC of my office building only adds to the sweating. In the Summer, I literally take my clothes with me to change inside my office before work. On the way home, I don’t care about the sweat. But starting off the work day as a sweat hog is not appealing to anybody. Still, as I transition to heat season mode, I have the carrot at the end of the stick in our family vacation. Since the kids were tiny, we have always rounded out the Summer with a two week vacation to the beach. And the last few years, we have been staying in this vacation rental that has the ultimate when it comes to residential HVAC equipment. Thinking about two weeks inside that zone controlled HVAC is what keeps me going all Summer long.
