After four months of energy monitoring, it was simple to see the bulk of my wasted energy was happening on the fourth shift, but most of the lights in the warehouse were all on the same switch, but one flip of the switch meant turning on the power in the whole building, instead of in the small area where my fourth shift crew was laboring. The energy monitoring system helped identify this problem. After that, I realized that lighting controls could help as well… Now the lights & rooms are all on separate controls. When the workers are in area A, the lights detect motion & automatically come on. They do not turn on in the whole building which is currently saving my business about 15% on our weekly utility costs. The new integrated controls are going to help me build & grow my business.
