I started the cleaning company shortly after I started colege.
I neded a way to make a little extra money for food, entertainment, and fun stuff. I didn’t want a full time job with a schedule. I started cleaning a couple of hosues on the weekeneds and that turned into a weekly gig. After those houses, the owners gave my number to some friends and they started calling for cleaning services too. I had to get a friend to help with some of the work and that’s when my cleaning business was born. I ended up quitting college in my sophomore year to concentrate on the cleanieng company full time. I didn’t see any reason to finsh college and the business courses when I already had a sucessful company on my hands. I have been in business for nearly ten years and our biggest expense is easily cleaing supplies. We buy window washer cleaner, floor cleaner, tile and grout cleaner, and a number of other speciality cleaning supplies. Last year, we spent a fortune on these products. It made me think about making our own cleaning products or finding a place with cheaper prices. With two grand a year out the door on supplies, it makes sense to find a better way to save money. I have a couple of chemists that are interested in helping me develop a cleaner, but they want to be able to patent the formula without paying me any royalty fees.
