I have decided that I am going to take the day off from work today.

Because I work for myself I can do this without needing the approval of anyone or anything.

By the way, I did not say what I do for a living. I am an independent heating and air conditioning specialist. I have owned my own little heat and a/c company for almost 10 years now. And I am the only person working! So if I have no heating and air conditioning home service appointments, I can take the day off any time I want as long as I am ok with money. Which business has been great lately so I deserve a break. I have felt a little overworked as of late so this sporadic day off is just what I need to be totally honest. Working every single day nearly repairing central heating and air conditioning systems and sometimes even installing central heating and air conditioning systems can take a toll on you if you are not careful and do not take a minute to breathe every so often. And me taking the day off is my moment to breathe. I really have needed this for a while. It was just that I did not have the open space to do so due to the tons of work I had coming in. Today since I had nothing scheduled I put on the machine on the phone with the message that we are out of the office today and that if they have an HVAC emergency they should call the regular local heating and air conditioning company.

I love going to the beach in the summer right by this lighthouse.

The reason I love it so much is because of the great ocean air quality around there. The air quality is so good it is almost like having a whole home air purification system given by mother nature herself! I am not kidding you. The air quality is really that good right by this lighthouse on the beach. On other areas of the beach the air quality is just ok. Nothing special. But there is something about the air quality right by this lighthouse. It may be because of the way the ocean air reflects off of it possibly. I have told others about this and they have come down to check it out too and agreed about the great air quality right by the lighthouse on the beach. There really isn’t anything else like it to be totally honest. I love coming there in the late afternoon into early evening. That is when the air quality is even better than it is at other times right by the lighthouse on the beach. After experiencing this, going home to my nice central heating and air conditioning system is even better. A great way to top it all off at the end of the day. Great air quality and then coming home to great air conditioning. You can not beat this great day and night of pure comfort with great air quality and great air conditioning. I did spend a lot on my central heating and air conditioning unit, so it is really nice to have after the beach air quality in the early evening.

Sometimes when things are on sale they sound good and I have to buy them.

Especially if the deal is good.

This was why I ended up buying a pretty nice sized baseboard heater when I was out shopping for a space heater. My original intent was to buy a portable space heater. However I decided instead on the baseboard heater because it was on sale at a really great price. Sure even on sale it was much more expensive than the portable space heater would have been. But for a deal like that I had to take it! That is just how I am. I can also say that the baseboard heater is actually a much better heating system than a portable space heater. It is also energy efficient just the same but it heats more space than even the most powerful portable space heater. So that is another reason I bought the baseboard heating system instead of the portable space heater that I was going to buy. I am pretty happy with my purchase and so far it is making my entire downstairs area super warm when it is really cold outside and I am not having to run the central heating and air conditioning system unit at all during the day. Only at night when I go to bed. And actually a few times so far, I decided to give the central heating and air conditioning system a break all day and all night by sleeping in the living room with my baseboard heating system. My bank account sure loved that when it came time for the monthly energy bill to arrive!

In the winter time months of the year where I live it tends to get really cold at night.

So cold that sometimes my central heating and air conditioning system’s heating just isn’t enough to keep me warm.

I had to go out and buy a portable space heater to help keep me warm at night. If I was to crank the central heating system super high it could end up causing an issue and maybe even make my heating and cooling unit overload and overwork itself. And I do not want to have a heat and a/c emergency. Especially this time of the year. Having a portable space heater in my bedroom to help keep me warm was a good idea a friend of mine suggested. It was a lot cheaper than investing in a brand new and up to date central heating and air conditioning system that would be more powerful. I know that I need to get a new central heating and air conditioning system sometime in the near future because mine is out of date and does not have the power to keep me nice and warm in the winter time months of the year. But for now like I said, the portable space heater is good enough to do so if used in conjunction with my central heating system. I am glad for the suggestion my buddy gave me to try. Because it really does work pretty darn good to help heat my bedroom. A very good suggestion all around.

In the future I will keep paying attention to the gas furnace a little more

My gas furnace has been acting very unusual as of late. The flame that comes out of the bottom of it has been rather high lately. This is not normal to have the blue flame of the gas furnace like this. Because the higher it goes it could get to be a hazard. Something may be wrong. So I turned off the gas furnace and called the local heating and air conditioning company for them to send out a certified heat and a/c specialist to have a look at my gas furnace to see what in the world is going on with it. When the certified heating and air conditioning specialist from the local heat and cooling company arrived to take a look, they found that there was a loose switch or something that I had no idea about. They said it somehow got turned up which was why the blue flame was getting higher and higher. They fixed it. I was told that if it kept going out of control like that it could have caused a fire and maybe even an explosion. So it was a good thing I decided to call the heating and air conditioning company about this and had them take a look at it. In the future I will keep paying attention to the gas furnace a little more. And if I see something like this happen again I will call the heating and air conditioning company a lot sooner to send a certified heat and a/c worker out right away to fix it again. That would be the best thing to do in my interest.

I was thinking about getting a heat pump as my new source of heating my home.

So I just decided to stick with what I know, which is my central heat and a/c unit. Central heating is not my favorite I have to admit, but at this stage it is the cheapest because my central heating and air conditioning system works really well and has not had any break downs in a long time. I just have my central heating and air conditioning system tuned up and checked up every season and that is it. No additional cost or maintenance required other than changing the air filter every other month. And because I buy washable air filters, that saves me money on air filters too as I can just use the same air filter for about 6 months before having to change over to a fresh one. Heat pumps are a good idea and yes they may save on energy use, but for my lifestyle and my time, it is just too much.
