Growing up, Mark was always at a disadvantage. His mum did her best to put food on the table for him and his baby sister. But, it wasn’t easy, and there was a lot he missed. So, he did his best in school to get a better education. The goal was to land a scholarship and pursue a business degree. However, one day he got an even better opportunity. There was a local business competition open to young people with a great cash price. Mark came up with a winning business plan and used the cash to open a grocery store. The shop was in an excellent location and made his mum proud. As they were working on setting it up, Mark opted to get a floor-mounted AC. It would cost less than calling the HVAC service to install a complete central heating and cooling unit. Getting a floor-mounted air conditioning unit made more sense financially. When the new HVAC system arrived, Mark was thrilled to start the installation. His sister was excellent with tools, so she gave him a helping hand. Once in place, there was no need even to consider purchasing an outdoor AC, which wasn’t cheap. Instead, the floor-mounted cooling unit would service the entire space during all seasons. This past week was extremely long and difficult.

It was a scorcher and the temperatures were almost 100 degrees every single day. It was hot outdoors and the heat and humidity always make me feel tired and lazy. I didn’t want to go to work on Friday, because I knew it was going to be busy. I was scheduled to install a ductless AC unit in the east side neighborhood. I loaded up my truck at the workshop. I had everything necessary to complete the ductless HVAC unit installation job. I found the address and used the GPS system to find accurate directions. I arrived at the first job on my schedule. I talked to the customer for a few minutes, and then I started unloading the truck with all of my tools and the equipment necessary to complete the job. As I was walking back to the work truck from the garage area, I saw the tires start to roll. At first I thought it was a mirage, but then I saw the wheel moving faster and faster. I couldn’t get to the truck before it rolled out of the driveway. Thankfully, a curb stopped the truck from rolling into the neighbor’s lawn. I know it would have been expensive to replace all of the award winning roses in the front yard. From now on, I’m going to start using the parking brake at all times. That was one scary moment and I could have been in a lot of trouble. The damages to the other lawn and house would have been severe.

After hearing some noises in the AC unit, I decided to take the machine apart to troubleshoot the problem.

I certainly don’t know much about HVAC repairs, but I found about a hundred useful videos on youtube.

I didn’t think it would take much time or energy to fix the machine on my own, and I hoped I would be able to save $200 on the service call. The last time I called the HVAC repair company, I paid a service charge of $119, plus I had to pay for the problem to be fixed. I certainly wanted to save that money if at all possible. I set up my laptop next to the HVAC machine and I followed the directions to take the front panel off the machine. I carefully inspected all of the pieces and moving parts inside the machine. The instructional video told me to look for a couple of major problems. I didn’t find anything wrong in those areas. After three hours, I finally gave up trying to locate the issue. I knew it was going to be easier and quicker to call for help. Luckily for me, the HVAC repair shop had an afternoon appointment available. A customer called to cancel and that left a spot open for me to have service on the same day. I waited until the afternoon to have the machine fixed. I tried to stay cool while I waited for the service technician, but it was almost impossible. The house was almost 90 degrees before the guy arrived to lend a helping hand.

My wife and I bought a small outdoor fire pit and we use this on nights when it is very cold and windy. Unfortunately, the outdoor patio isn’t a very nice place to hang out when it is the middle of the summer. It’s far too warm and humid to sit outside in the months of June, July, and August. Even September is hot and humid, but at least the temperatures are a little bit lower. My wife and I had to deal with the terrible summer temperatures this year by purchasing a brand new AC unit. Our old AC unit was 12 years aged and we had it repaired on three different occasions. The last time I called for a repair, I was certain the AC company would give me bad news. They found a way to make the machine work for another year. Last week, when I called for a repair, I knew it was certainly time to replace the machine. Sure enough, the tech gave me the bad news. He gave us a great discount on the new AC unit, and it’s really energy efficient as well. It’s going to save us money this summer and help lower our monthly energy bills.

A new dive bar just opened up around the corner from my apartment building.

• My friends and I decided to go there last Friday night.

The place was having a two-for-one drink special on off tap beers and cider. The bar has an open-concept atmosphere. The place doesn’t have any AC. Since it is on the water, there is a nice breeze most of the time. Unfortunately, Friday night it was very warm and humid and there wasn’t much of a breeze. My friends and I did not have a good time, because the place did not have any AC. Perhaps during the winter or fall months, this place would be an amazing experience, but the middle of summer is not the best time to open a bar without any AC. My friends and I stayed for an hour or two and we enjoyed the cheap beer special. I drank four Budweisers in a short amount of time and I had a little buzz when we left. It’s a good thing that I didn’t have to drive my car anywhere. When the bar started to fill with people, we left the place to go back to my apartment.I would have preferred to hang out at the bar if the indoor climate had been better. I live about two blocks away from the bar, so my place was the closest. I grabbed a couple of six-packs from the corner store to finish our evening in style. We ordered some pizza when we got back to the apartment and we spent the rest of the night in cool comfort.

If you have tinted windows on your car, you need to take care of them.

Tinted windows come with a big responsibility. You need to have the right cleaning products and tools. Wet paper towels will not do the job if you want your window to stay nice. Always remember to use a cleaner that is ammonia-free. It is an abrasive cleaner that can cause added wear to your window tint. It can also lead to discoloration to your window tinting film. The wear on the window tint film can end up damaging them, and this is the last thing you want to do. If you can’t find an ammonia-free cleaner, then stick to a bucket of warm water with plain soap and soft cloth. Mild soap is perfect for cleaning dirty tinted windows. Paper towels are a definite no-no for cleaning tinted windows. The can can cause scratches, and that is why a soft microfiber cloth is ideal for your window tinting films. If you don’t have a soft cloth, maybe you have a squeegee. A sponge can also be a great tool when cleaning your window tinting. These tools are able to prevent unwanted scratches and scuffs. If you are looking for something a bit gentler on your window tinting, then I have a suggestion. Did you know that with baby soap, distilled water, and two tablespoons of rubbing alcohol, you have a gentle cleanser that will remove the road grime? You simply mix them together in a spray bottle and you have the perfect cleaner for cleaning your tinted windows. Remember to never have your car in direct sunlight when you are cleaning your tinted windows. The sun will cause the cleaner to dry too quickly.

My husband built himself a shed in your backyard and didn’t think about the layout at all.

The ceilings are a weird size and so is the actual length and width of the shed.

Due to this, getting wracks to hold his tools on is difficult. He doesn’t want to mount a pegboard and call it a day either. My husband also wants a workbench but none of the ones offered online are the right size. For his birthday I am going to have a custom furniture builder help out. I already have talked to the guy about a storage unit for tools. The guy I have been chatting with is amazing. He has so many ideas on how the different power tools, batteries and charging ports can fit together. He also has plans for magnetic strips to put small handheld tools and loops to hold tapes and extension cords. Basically I just send the guy pictures of what my husband has and he changes the design to fit the tools. I think the tool holding the furniture piece is going to be a showpiece. I am excited for the work bench too. I just gave the guy the weird shed sizing and my husband’s height. The guy is going to make him a wooden work bench that can fold up so he has more space. I haven’t told my husband yet that these pieces are coming. I am so excited. It is all I can do not to ruin the surprise though. He is going to love his custom furniture pieces.

I am not ready to throw in the towel yet! I will be the first to admit that all this COVID stuff really hit me hard.

The business went belly up within three months, I had to break the lease, cancel insurance, really it was a nightmare of paperwork.

I jumped through all the hoops, started saving up whatever money I could and planning for my big comeback. Now that time is here, and I am ready to start over, albeit a little more scaled-back than before. It is important that I keep my overhead low, so I need to investigate the costs of business office space for rent around here. I work for one of the biggest aquariums in the state. When I first visited it with my family in my youth, I knew that someday I wanted to be employed by this wonderful place. In high school I started an internship in the office with the staff, and now I’m one of several administrative assistants in the main office at the aquarium. I handle everything from scheduling appointments, filing paperwork, and creating fliers for both staff and guests. Since it’s an aquarium and we have water everywhere, there has been a tendency for fliers to disintegrate within a few days of putting them on walls throughout the facility. After a bit of frustration, I came across a website discussing different kinds of printers, including some that can print on waterproof paper. I told my boss that we needed a digital color label printer that can handle waterproof printing. We have been wasting paper and ink on reprinting new signs every week to replace the ones that get waterlogged and fall apart in small pieces. When I managed to find an affordable digital color printer that can print on waterproof paper, I showed it to my boss on his computer. He reluctantly agreed to buy the new printer. Now I’m printing labels and signs once because they’re all lasting for as long as we need to keep them up. They stay perfectly preserved until there is no use for them any longer. The amount of money we have saved in printer ink has more than paid for the waterproof printer at this point. I know that my boss is happy that the investment paid off in the long run. I’m just happy that my job is easier now with the new printer.

I have done more dumb things than anyone else I know. With being a teacher of what not to do, I am really the Einstein of the subject. I tried to repair a window air conditioner once. I had all the pieces laid out on the dining room floor. I washed every piece plus laid them in a row. Unfortunately, when it came time to put the parts back into the air conditioner unit, I did not suppose what piece went first. That was when the people I was with and I decided it was time to purchase a central air conditioner unit. The people I was with and I once had a space gas furnace that hissed every once in a while. I knew it was the sound of fuel leaking out of the nozzle. I had soldered many things, plus I did not think it would be a massive deal to put a bead of solder on the nozzle. I wouldn’t even be touching the flame to the nozzle. I would heat the solder plus drop a bit on the nozzle. Instead of repairing the space heater, I had to go out plus buy a new a single. The new space gas furnace had every safety feature possible so I couldn’t touch the insides of it. My fiance trusts myself and others to not touch anything. She said she trusts myself and others with her life, but she also knew she could trust myself and others to cut anything I try to fix. I’m not allowed to touch anything that has to do with Heating plus A/C or electric, or plumbing, or …
