When I walked by the A/C vents, I stopped and looked down at it. To my disgust, there was hair, dirt and lint coming out of it! I took a vacuum cleaner and started clearing away all of the dirt and hair, but even after all of that was cleared away, I couldn’t help but think that if it was like that on the outside, what was it like on the inside? I looked into ways into cleaning the inside, and that is when I discovered duct cleanings. Apparently your ductwork can become very filthy on the inside, and it is actually recommended to have a heating and cooling professional come out and clean them every now and then. I was fine with this, and called a HVAC business to schedule my appointment. Thankfully the cooling corporation wasn’t busy, and they could have the HVAC technician out as soon as tomorrow! The HVAC professional did arrive tomorrow, and it took him close to 3 hours to completely clear everything out. I was relieved when he was finally done, and knowing that all of that gross stuff was cleaned away, and knowing my home was cleaner as well as my air. I will definitely have to make sure to get ductwork cleanings every so often to prevent this from happening again. This also got me thinking about other ways I can start keeping my home clean, and when I read about how dirty your indoor air could be, I decided to buy a whole home media air cleaner to clean the air as well. I am still on a mission for my house to be completely clean, and when it is, I will feel so much better.
