When my friend got a kitten for the first time, I made sure to give her plenty of care tips and how to make sure that she plays with the kitten and socializes with it a lot, to make it be as friendly as possible.
I made sure to tell her to get all of the essentials, bowls, scratching post, litter box etc.
When she first introduced the kitten to her place, I told her she should confine the kitten to one room, so that the kitten can get used to its surroundings first. She took all of my advice, and after a week, she told me the kitten was adjusting well and wasn’t as shy as when she first got it. One of the last pieces of advice I almost forgot to tell her was make sure you get more A/C filters, which sounds like strange advice, but I told her that you wouldn’t believe how much pet hair cats and dogs can produce. That pet hair is great for clogging up air conditioning filters, and to make sure she buys a whole box of air conditioning filters to last. I don’t think she believed me much at first, until she owned the kitten for half a year or so, and realized just how much they can shed. Then she did as I suggested and she bought a box of HVAC filters from a nearby heating and air conditioning company. I know what I am talking about, I have 3 cats and I need to change my HEPA filters on a monthly basis.
