After a friend of mine got a small cat for the first time, I took it upon myself to give her plenty of care instructions in addition to how to ensure that she spends time with it.
Socializing with it a lot would make it as friendly as possible.
I also made sure to inform her to get all of the necessities, bowls, scratching post, litter box etc. When my friend first brought the kitten to her house, I advised her to confine the small cat to a single room, so that it can get used to its surroundings first. She took all of my advice and a week later told me the small cat was adjusting well and wasn’t as timid as when she first got it. One of the last tips I almost forgot to tell her was to ensure she got more cooling system filters, which sounds like bizarre advice, but I told her that she wouldn’t believe how much pet hair cats and other pets can produce. The pet hair is superb for blocking cooling system filters, so it was paramount she bought a whole box of cooling system filters to last. I don’t think she believed me much in the beginning, until she owned the kitten for half a year or so. My friend realized just how much fur they had. Then she did as I advocated and got a box of A/C filters from an AC business heather home. I was clear about what I am talking of since I have 3 cats and must change my HEPA filters every 4 weeks. .
