I couldn’t tell you how several times I have suffered driving to & from work.
It wasn’t only the lengthy commute that entirely got to me, however it was also the fact that my car never had A/C.
I constantly thought about just taking my car to the shop to get the A/C fixed, however then the people I was with and I was constantly worried that it was going to be way too fancy. Also, I didn’t want them to find a bunch of stuff that they thought I should have fixed. I didn’t want to pay a small luck on this car that wasn’t anything too impressive in the first place; So I went many years just dying on the highway in the summer time separate from any A/C at all. I would crank the boombox & roll the windows down, however occasionally I didn’t mind just having the windows down, however on the entirely overheated afternoons it was unbearable at times. Eventually a neighbor was asking me why I didn’t get the A/C fixed in my car & so I told him. He laughed & said he could fix the A/C for me. I was skeptical & then he proved it to me. He took me to an auto parts store where he picked up some type of spray can with some adapters on it. He showed me how to hook up the can to the A/C compressor & he had me refill the coolant. It was unbelievably self-explanatory & it didn’t take that long to do. Then the people I was with and I got back on the road & he had me turn on the A/C method & I was in disbelief when the a/c was blowing ice-cold air!
