My mom and dad retired and they decided to sell their loft and transport south, and they prefer the part and our Dad enjoys playing golf several afternoons a week… I wasn’t frustrated that they made the final decision, but our sister was genuinely mad at first… She thought our mom and dad were abandoning her; our mom and dad were talking about moving to warmer weather conditions for the past 10 years.
It genuinely wasn’t a surprise when they finally decided to sell the house.
I secretly hoped that it would take a long time to sell, but our parents put the loft on the market for a really good selling price. They had a good offer in less than multiple weeks. My parents moved a couple of weeks after the sale closed. My mom and dad have experienced a little bit of trouble adjusting to the extremely warm uneven temperatures. They decided to transport while every one of us were in the Summer when the uneven temperatures were the highest of the year. My mom and dad were not used to the humidity or the uneven temperatures. They had to buy a dehumidifier for the kitchen. My mom and dad thought that the humid air was hot and thick. The dehumidifier genuinely helped remove a lot of the excess moisture. I believe they use the dehumidifier every afternoon. I can hear it running in the background when I talk to our mom on the cellphone. If it helps, after that I do not think they care if it costs an advantage for the electric bill! Until they adjust to the warm uneven temperatures, they will entirely run the AC and dehumidifier all afternoon.
