I haven’t been a fan of the Wintertide since moving up north more than 3 decades ago.
In fact, you could probably say that I was more like dreading the Wintertide each year.
And the older I got, the less I wanted to deal with the cold, snow and ice involved with our winter. Plus, while I was most thankful for our heating and air conditioning heating, I was never genuinely cozy in my house. Instead, the thermostat was set to where the two of us could not freeze. However, we also control the cost of the heating and air conditioning heating. And if you’ve ever had to pay for heating up north, you guess just what I’m talking about. So each winter, I just sort of hunkered down and got through it the best that I could. It wasn’t untypical for myself and others to sit and watch TV with a space heating system kneeling right in front of me. And I even had a space heating system at my desk in the office even though there was zone controlled heating and air conditioning in that building. Finally, my husband and I were able to build a home. This was a house for just more than one of us as the men were then on their own. So the two of us opted to go with some details that the more than one of us always wanted. One of those things turned out to be a geothermal heat pump. And the geo heat pump transfers heat through radiant heating. Actually, it’s the radiant floor heating. But this sort of heating and air conditioning heating is just the most comfortable and cozy of any I have yet to experience. Finally, after all these years, I’m genuinely warm and cozy inside my home.
