I was in the middle of preparing for our annual Christmas party.
- It seemed that at that very moment when I was getting ready to put everything into the oven and start baking, my oven died.
My stove was barely 3 years old and no longer working. When my husband got home from work, I told him about the oven and he said he would look at it, but I just shook my head. Not only did I know that the oven was not going to work again, but I had good reason to know the oven was not going to work again. Within seconds of turning on the oven and getting it heated up, I had flames pouring out around the door. He looked at me oddly and asked if I had anything else that I could do for the party that didn’t involve using the oven. I kind of chuckled, even though I was quite upset, and told him that they have local meal delivery services in our area. I had already looked at all the local restaurants, and found out which ones offered meal delivery in our area. I was able to pick and choose from different local restaurants. I chose to have hors d’oeuvres from one restaurant. I ordered baked goods for meal delivery from another restaurant. I had baked ham and two different dips delivered from a third restaurant. I then went online to our local grocery store and picked vegetables and other items that I needed to complete my party planning for the day. Without local meal delivery, my party would have been totally ruined. I have never been more grateful to know that local meal delivery was available to us than I was that Saturday.
