Don’t choke the air supply going into an HVAC condenser

I’m starting to regret hiring a landscaping company to work on my yard.

Ever since childhood I was responsible for at least half of the gardening work at my parent’s property. I planted trees, bushes, flowers, cacti, succulents, and even decorative palms. Mowing the grass and weeding around the foundation was part of my chore list as well. It wasn’t an issue for me because I had an early MP3 player at the time and loved to listen to as much music as I could get my hands on whenever I was doing chores outside. Despite occupying my time with music, I was told to be careful and stay mindful of my surroundings. Had I accidentally gashed the base of the HVAC condenser while using the weed whacker, I would have faced the consequences for my mistake. I figured that this landscaping company would hire people with enough decency to tell me when they damage my HVAC equipment with their weed whackers. I’m at a loss of what I should do in response to this frustrating situation. I took photos of the gashes at the base of my HVAC condenser and sent them to the owner of the landscaping. Although I wasn’t particularly surprised, I was shocked at how brazen that man was about denying any culpability on his employees’ part. That’s when I went to Google to leave a negative review, which triggered a flood of similar reviews from other dissatisfied customers who had similar issues with damage from lawn equipment. Afterward the owner tried to reach out to me about retracting my review if he could “make it right,” but I told him to kick rocks until he can’t feel his toes anymore.
