I work in an industry where I have to move around a great deal.
That just sort of comes with the territory.
However, once you hit a certain level, the transfers are less frequent. This was the case finally for me. After a decade and more of near constant moving, I was able to make a home. My wife and I started a family and bought a house. This was a dream of ours. The house was awesome and didn’t need all that many renovations to make it just right. However, the HVAC was something that we had to address. It was antiquated and we actually negotiated a better price on the final sale because it was old and needed to be replaced. So once we were moved in, we got with an HVAC contractor and chose a model that would be exactly right for our heating & cooling needs. And let me tell you, there has never been a more perfect HVAC system in any place I have ever lived. We had zone control in 6 separate zones of the house. This was great because we could customize our temperatures throughout the house. It was just heaven. And I got to experience it for about a year and a half. That’s right, the life that we were starting got interrupted. My company transferred me again. It was one of the hardest decisions that I have ever had to make. But, the transfer came with a great new position with better money and a track toward corporate. So, I had to say goodbye to the perfect HVAC for now.
