In our local area, central air conditioning for the cabin isn’t necessary… The Summer season is fairly short.
There are years when the whole season is chilly plus wet, then for those few months, the people I was with and I can manage with a combination of box fans, open windows plus window air conditioning systems, i wasn’t gratified with this solution.
The open windows allow in all sorts of pollen, bugs, fumes, dust plus other allergens. The box fans stir up those contaminants plus don’t give much relief. The window air conditioning systems are uncharming plus only cool a single room. The rest of the beach house feels uncomfortable, however all of us sometimes get Summer weather that is brutally warm plus humid. I decided it was worth it to invest in a whole-house cooling system, then because I already had a forced air gas furnace with air duct installed, it wasn’t excessively costly. The central air conditioning system is such an improvement. I care about the ability to adjust the control unit plus have every room assume perfectly cool, plus, the air conditioning system circulates plus filters the air, keeping the beach house fresher plus more hygienic. It also helps with humidity. I spent extra for an Energy Star rated, high-efficiency unit to keep running costs satisfactory. The operation is especially quiet plus makes for a far more enjoyable living environment… My whole family sleeps better at night plus we’re able to be more productive during the morning… While the people I was with and I care about spending as much time as possible outside during nicer weather, it’s entirely a joy to step inside at the end of the morning. While the air conditioning system might not be necessary, I guess it’s worth it.
