I really want to try and save money on my air conditioning this year, since last summer I spent a fortune on cooling bills.
I know that the air conditioning in my house is not quite the most high efficiency type that I could have purchased, but I still thought it would be doing better than what it is. The way that my cooling bills have been going up and up over the past couple of years, I am beginning to wonder if it would save me money to go ahead and purchase a new high efficiency air conditioning system than to keep on using this one! I just don’t have the money for that right now though, so I decided to look up some practical tips to get the most out of my air conditioning system this year. There are many different ways to try and get more out of your air conditioning and save you money at the same time. One way is to make sure that you seal up all of the leaks in your home. If you live in an old house, that might be part of the problem. Another way to save money on your cooling bills is to try and keep the sun and its heating rays out of your house to start with. Trees, big bushes, pergolas, and other shading devices can really help to keep your home cooler inside. Also, if you have energy efficient lighting and appliances, that can help keep the heat down inside of your home. Make sure that you have proper insulation in your house to keep your air conditioning inside instead of outside! My dad always used to tell us that we weren’t trying to air condition the entire outdoors and that still rings true today.
