It’s not just the HVAC that changed when we reopened our offices.
We changed offices altogether.
When the pandemic hit, I had to close our offices and send the team home to their own air conditioning. Initially, I wasn’t so sure how long that would last. But after a month, I was pretty scared that I might not be able to keep my company together. It’s a small business that I started about six years ago. Having spent a dozen years inside the zone controlled HVAC of a corporate office, I wanted to continue in the field but under my own direction. That’s a big leap and we were profitable even before I had planned. But that early success was being threatened now that we found ourselves at home in the HVAC security of our homes. Yet the team was able to transition to working from their own air conditioning that I chose not to renew the lease on the office. I went from fearing for the solvency of our company to watching us continue to thrive from the safety of our air conditioning at home. It was quite remarkable really and it reminded me that I have such an incredible team working with me. So when all of us had been vaccinated and it was time to work together in person, I got a new office. This was a big upgrade as it had zone controlled HVAC. That was a major complaint we had about the old place. Now we had state of the art commercial HVAC in our offices and lots of other amenities. It’s a pleasure to add the best HVAC to our day and provide bonuses as a welcome back as well.
