The family room is fantastic for remodeling due to the fact that is shaped like a perfect square.
It would be a nightmare to make triangle pieces of appliances with long stretches of counter space. The two of us spent many minutes thinking about the family room design so we could make it into the perfect space. The two of us wanted our trash by the sink and then the dishwasher to be on the other side. The two of us wanted everything to be close to the area where we could see it directly into the living room. My ancient layout was basically the same without much counter space by the stove. The two of us found a way to get around that. The two of us shifted appliances 12 in to the left, which moved everything to a much more reasonable place on the counter top. The two of us had to deal with electricity as well as Plumbing after starting this design. The outlet for the stove needed to be shifted as well as the wiring for the vent did as well. We use flexible hoses to move the sink. A plumber came to the house to work on the cross action. The plumber told us all of the things that we needed for the project. The plumber helped us extend our family room as well as make the space bigger. The two of us simply wanted to move the toilet one foot, but we ran into a much bigger project that required us to absolutely work on a few other things as well.
