We own a small vacation beach house which we only visit once or twice a year if time allows. My husband and I decided to rent it to tourists who visit the coast. We could not have it repaired before leaving because we had limited time. Since I work remotely, I was the one to get it fixed and ensure the house was in a good state before we listed it as a rental. On arrival, I contacted the local service provider. When I informed my husband, he was hesitant, but the HVAC tech told him that new cooling equipment with the latest cooling technology was the only way to go. With the tech’s input, I chose a good quality HVAC; he also told me that a new contractor would be in charge of the project. I had to stay there a little longer to oversee the air conditioning installation and the rest of the work on the house. This time around, I set a reminder so that I could remember when to replace the air conditioning filter. We got our first tenant two months later, who stayed for two weeks.
