My best buddy Maria got a baby boy about a month ago, and since I was away at work, I hadn’t seen his baby.
When I returned from our travels, I decided to spend the week I had off with Maria and the baby.
I work in the cooling industry as a heating and A/C professional. I had traveled to attend a conference about the latest cooling technology. When I got to Maria’s house, she ran to me, baby in her arms, and gave me a big warm hug. I noticed strange noises coming from the air conditioning system and checked it out. Maria said that she had not updated the air conditioning filter, but I insisted on checking. Maria told me to call a cooling expert since I was on leave, but I insisted on doing the work! There was no point in calling an heating as well as A/C tech while I was one myself, leave or not, I wanted to do this for her. I checked the equipment and was distraught to report that they needed a new heating as well as A/C. Thankfully, the programmable temperature control was in wonderful condition. I took her through heat as well as A/C products that I knew would suit her needs. Together we chose a quality heating as well as A/C, although she was hesitant and told me that she would purchase it in a month or so. I knew that things in her household were a bit strenuous with the baby, so I offered to pay for half the cost as a gift to her baby, and I would not take no for an answer. I would also take care of the air conditioning replacement. One of the new companies, a buddy of Maria’s hubby, helped me set up the cooling equipment.
