I never thought that I would grow up to become an HVAC technician, but I am currently an HVAC technician, and I love it.
I thought that I would do something as a video game designer as a kid. When I was growing up, I was obsessed with gaming. At this point, streaming and playing video games professionally wasn’t a real option, so I needed to find a way to make money with my passion for playing video games. I eventually discovered that I could be a video game designer and make video games for a living. During my high school years, that is what I dreamed of. When I graduated, I went to school for this, but after earning my degree, I discovered that I couldn’t get a job. There were places hiring, but there were too many people looking to become video game designers. Instead of fighting it, I applied for the only job that I could find: HVAC work. The HVAC company in town was hiring people to train them to become HVAC technicians, and I needed the money. I never dreamed of becoming an HVAC technician, and I dreaded the idea at the time. However, after I started working on HVAC units, I discovered that I actually liked it. Why do people hate working for HVAC companies so much? I love the challenge of trying to figure out what is wrong with an HVAC unit, and I love how much money I make. I would still love to design a video game, but I would love to work more as an HVAC technician instead. I could never give up on this life.
