My mom passed away 3 years ago and our dad told us that he would never ever date again, and my sibling and I regularly wanted our dad to find someone that would make him happy the way our mother did.
He is a good guy that deserves all of the happiness in the world; dad never told either one of us that he was dating someone, even though I found out in the strangest and most different way.
My boss sent me out to the interstate to deal with a hotel HVAC issue, then there was no A/C in the lobby and the hotel was a customer of ours, and I arrived at the hotel and started taking all of our tools out of the truck. I was sitting inside of the hotel lobby waiting to speak to the manager about the HVAC concerns, and people were sitting all over waiting for their room. I happened to notice a familiar face on the other side of the lobby. I was actually surprised to see the familiar face. It was our dad and he had his arms around a woman. I did not approach our dad. I figured he had a reason for keeping the woman a secret. I called our sibling as soon as I was done with the HVAC repair. I asked our sibling if she knew anything about the mystery woman, but she was just as clueless as I was. The people I was with and I are waiting for the right time to confront our dad with the information that I found out this week. The people I was with and I are both hoping that he will tell us about the special person in his life.
