I thought the customer wanted a tune-up

My boss sent myself and the crew on a routine Heating as well as Air Conditioning tune-up last Thursday.

The routine tune-up was the 1st task on my schedule. I had a consultation just after breakfast as well as I was also tied up to help someone with a ductless AC repair job. The 1st task was way out in the country. I drove right to the address without calling the lady first to tell her that I was on my way. When I arrived, the lady looked genuinely cheerful to see me. She told myself and others that she had been waiting all weekend for someone to repair the AC unit. I asked her if the problem occurred over the weekend. I thought we were there to perform a correct repair and tune-up. I did not realize that the call was a troubleshooting as well as evaluation call. I contacted the home office so they would guess that I was going to be a little bit longer than I anticipated. I did not mind that the lady wanted us to work on a repair instead of a tune-up, but that was going to set myself and others back a long time as well as I had other shoppers that expected myself and others about an hour later. The office contacted that next shopper as well as assigned her to another woman after I realized that the AC repair was going to take a while. I never got to any other tied up tasks that day. I was stuck at the customer’s condo all day working on her AC repair. I was ready to crash by the time I got condo later that day. I honestly could have used an additional pair of hands on the task, however I was there as well as I needed to make the best of my situation.
