I just shelled out about $150 for a cajon drum and carrying case and I hope that I use it enough to warrant paying that amount of currency for it.
I have purchased things before on a total whim, such as portable gas heating systems for camping, and ended up never using them.
They usually sat in my garage for a few years till enough other stuff piled up next to them causing me to toss everything out in a fit of cleaning. The local corporation where I purchased the drum absolutely gave me a nice discount on it as I am friends with the owner. I have been messing with drumming for the past 35 years so I don’t suppose that this will be an expensive price compared to the other things I’ve bought. I am also going to buy a smart temperature control later this month if I can’t repair my outdated 1, but this is more of a necessity than an impulse buy as I need to live in comfort in my small flat. The Summer is truly warm this year and I am typically having to adjust my temperature control by hand and am getting tired of doing so. I suppose the smart temperature control can be programmed easily, and once it is done I won’t have to worry about it anymore. They also have a sale on them now so I suppose this would be a nice time to grab it. Every one of us has a few more weeks of heat and then it is going to slowly shift to cooler weather. I also prefer the various decreasing seasons here.
