I am looking at possibly getting heated flooring.
I am debating getting a new heating system because of my cat. Most people roll their eyes or think I am being ridiculous. My cat is just as part of the home as I am, probably more. He sleeps more than 8 hours a day in the house. He likes chilling in the living room, eating snacks and sleeping on beds too. The problem is that my cat hates my heating system. When the heater turns on he immediately runs away. The sound of it scares him. The heater is super loud when it clicks on and operates. It can wake me up out of a dead sleep and honestly, I don’t really like it either. I checked the year on my heating machine and it is 17 years old. A furnace can live from 15 to 30 years old. So I could have a long lifespan ahead of me if I am careful. I am not going to be though. I have already started researching new heating systems. I don’t like how it operates or how loud it is. I also don’t like the ductwork with the heating system. It makes no sense having every room the saem temperature. I hardly use the office and I only want quality heating when I sleep at night and for my cat. I am looking at possibly getting heated flooring. This heating system is totally silent in operation and doesn’t waste energy rising to the ceiling. Rather than forced air, it is electric being gentle underneath your feet. I bet my cat would love to lay on a heated tile.
