It would have been nice to have heat in the tent

My girlfriend and I went camping last November with some friends from school.

I thought we would have a really good time, but we actually had more problems than fun.

The biggest reason was due to the temperatures. We expected temperatures to be around 50 or 60 at night. There were two nights when the temperatures reached the 30s. My girlfriend was very unhappy when it was cold in the tent. We had sleeping bags and a blanket, but the cold air made the air mattress feel like we were sleeping on a block of ice. My girlfriend got up in the middle of the night on one of those evenings and she slept inside of the car. She was going to turn on the car and the heater until I reminded her that it was going to be loud and obnoxious in the middle of the night. The next night when the temperatures were forecasted to be 38°, my girlfriend started off in the truck. She didn’t even want to try to sleep in the tent. It would have been nice to have some heat in the tent, but it’s not exactly easy to do when you go camping in a place that does not have any electricity. We would need a battery operated space heater. They do make battery operated space heaters, but they are expensive and the batteries only last about 6 hours. I just can’t see spending all of that money for batteries when they aren’t going to last more than 6 hours. That means I would have to spend about $20 each night to keep the tent warm and cozy. For another $20 each night, my girlfriend and I could sleep in a cabin instead of our tent.
