The AC was completely out of refrigerant

Your home AC unit works on refrigerants.

These refrigerants are used to make the air colder.

Air comes into the HVAC system. As it passes through the evaporator coils, it is hit with a bit of refrigerant and that cools down the air very quickly. The cold air is sent back out to your home and that is how the modern AC unit works. There are only a few reasons why an AC unit would be blowing warm air and being out of refrigerant is one of the main reasons. An HVAC unit doesn’t regularly leak refrigerant, so low refrigerant is a common side effect of a different problem. My AC unit was blowing warm air, so I contacted the repair shop. I got an appointment for the same day. A friendly, knowledgeable, and respectable HVAC technician came to the house to look at the ac. After spending 30 or 40 minutes looking at the system, the guy told me that the problem was due to low refrigerant. He suggested that I had lost 2 lb of liquid refrigerant. The guy could not pinpoint a leak, but he was certain that we would have to deal with this issue again next summer. The heating and AC repair technician suggested replacing the AC or the compressor. The guy gave me the number for his cell and he told me to call him if there were problems again. Since he already knew about my air conditioner, it would be easier for him to come back out then for the company to send someone that didn’t know anything at all about the system or the previous problems.
