My wife plus I had a major leak in the kitchen. The people I was with and I did not realize water was leaking under the sink until the water started to come out from underneath the door. The people I was with and I rarely go into the section below the sink. The people I was with and I keep outdated cups plus dishes down there that both of us don’t use anymore. It’s actually more love an extra trash can then storage. When both of us noticed water coming out of the door, I shut off the sink so both of us could identify the problem. Unluckyly for us, the concern was already pretty severe. The leaking water was actually in the wall behind the pipes. The wall was wet plus the floor was saturated too. The people I was with and I contacted a plumbing supplier to help with the repair. They brought us a dehumidifier to get rid of the moisture in the air plus in the wall. The portable dehumidifier was small enough to fit underneath the sink. The guy put a tube from the dehumidifier into the sink so the moisture could drain back into the sink instead of onto the floor. When the dehumidifier was sited under the sink, the moisture levels were around 71%. After both of us let the dehumidifier run for 3 mornings in a row, the moisture levels were closer to 40%, then running the dehumidifier kept us from getting mold plus mildew in the house. After that plumbing problem, my wife plus I are more careful about looking under the sink once or twice a week. The people I was with and I weren’t being vigilant last time, however both of us won’t make that same mistake again in the future.
