It makes me sad that this kind of thing happens on a regular basis because I feel like everyone should just be honest.
HVAC scammers have been in our neighborhood for the last couple of weeks and so I have been on the lookout. I found out through one of our local neighborhood websites that people have been going around pretending to be HVAC technicians in our neighborhood. At first, I thought it was weird that people would go around pretending to be HVAC technicians, but I guess it only makes sense since the weather is cooling off now. When the weather starts cooling down outside,everyone’s thoughts start turning to the heating systems inside of their homes. I guess it is really a perfect opportunity to take advantage of someone if you’re trying to scam them out of money. These HVAC scammers are going around offering free heating system tune ups to people if they sign up and pay for regular preventative maintenance. Then they take the money and just run away with it. They don’t ever do a free heating system tune up, nor are they planning to ever come and do any preventative maintenance on the HVAC systems. The whole thing is just a scam. It makes me sad that this kind of thing happens on a regular basis because I feel like everyone should just be honest. I guess I will just stick with my regular local HVAC company to do all of my furnace service this year. I will probably stick with them from here on out, too, just to be on the safe side. I think I might go and talk to my neighbors on my street just to make sure that they don’t fall prey to this type of thing.
