If your HVAC warranty is like mine, then you have to make sure that you get all of the maintenance work done in a timely fashion.
Some people don’t really realize that if they let their HVAC warranty go too long without getting it checked out by a professional HVAC technician, then they can void their warranty. I’ve very nearly voided the warranty on my HVAC system many times because I keep forgetting to get it looked at. I don’t know why I have such a problem with remembering things like that, but last time I ended up adding it to my cell phone so it will remind me automatically every six months. With my particular HVAC systems warranty, I have to get the whole system checked out by a professional HVAC technician that they recommend twice a year. If I do not have it done twice a year, then it voids my warranty. Since the warranty cost quite a bit of money back when I purchased the HVAC system three years ago, I sure don’t want to void it before we have even had to use it! Hopefully, now that I have it set to automatically remind me on my phone, I won’t have a problem with remembering to do it from now on. If I voided the warranty and then my HVAC system tore up on me, I would never be able to forgive myself. I would feel so stupid if I had to spend extra money on HVAC system repairs when I could have had it covered by the warranty instead.
