When I moved into our apartment, the landlord told me that all I needed to keep the home cool was a fan; I also wondered why they didn’t have air conditioning in the home building, even though I didn’t ask. I took the person at his word, then two months later, every one of us were into the Summer months. It was sweltering in our apartment, and I needed something more than a fan. I bought a window air conditioner to put in the window, but one of the neighbors complained, she told me they weren’t allowed a window air conditioning unit, as well as they wanted to understand why I was. I didn’t think anything about not being allowed to use a window air conditioning unit. I called the landlord, as well as he told me that running the A/C unit was grounds for having me evicted. He said the person was one of the shadiest landlords in the city, as well as I was up for a fight.
