A fan is not a replacement for an a/c system

When I moved into my apartment, the building owner told me that all I needed to keep the lake house cool was a fan; I wondered why they didn’t have an air conditioning system in the lake house building, although I didn’t ask. I took the person at his word! Two weeks later, we were into the warm season. It was sweltering in my apartment, as I needed something more than a fan. I bought a window cooling system to put in the window, but a single of the neighbors complained; however, she told me they weren’t allowed a window air conditioning system unit, as well as they wanted to guess why I was. I didn’t guess anything about not being allowed to use a window air conditioning system unit. I called the building owner, as well as he told me that running the A/C equipment was grounds for having me evicted. I didn’t know what I was hearing. There was nothing in my lease that mentioned not being able to use window A/C units. I didn’t guess they could easily evict me. Two weeks later, I was sent a notice of eviction. I took the lease to my friend, who was an attorney; then he couldn’t find anything in the lease that even hinted at not being allowed a window A/C unit, or that it could be grounds for eviction. When he saw who the building owner was, he shook his head. He said the person was a single one of the shadiest building owners in the city, as well as I was up for a fight. The only thing I could do was move, as well as fight through renter court about getting back my deposit.
