You can’t cover tobacco smoke with an air purifier

My hubby and I went to a hotel for our long weekend.

  • The two of us called ahead to make sure all of us had reservations and to tell them all of us wanted a non-smoking room.

I was allergic to smoke and my hubby just didn’t adore the odor! When all of us got to the hotel, it was nicer than all of us remembered. The only problem was that all of us suggested a non-smoking room, but the room had the odor of disinfectant and smoke. I was hoping they had another media air cleaner in the hotel, even though I was wrong. They also had an excellent heating and air conditioning system, but it didn’t get rid of the odor either. The two of us called the front desk, and they sent someone up to disinfect the room, but that wasn’t fantastic enough. I was already having a problem breathing, and it was getting worse, my hubby called the front desk again, and said all of us wanted a non-smoking room, but it isn’t what all of us got; and regardless of how much the heating and air conditioning system ran, without air purification, the smoke was not ever going away. The people at the desk were not sure how to handle the problem. They tried to assure us it was an actual non-smoking room, and they had another media air cleaner, but all of us argued. My hubby told them to come up to the room and they would also odor the smoke. One person, who was a supervisor, made their way up, and he was a non-smoker, and he apologized, got us another room, and told them to make sure there was a portable media air cleaner. He also wanted to know who was in charge of cleaning that particular room.
