My goal was to become an HVAC professional

When I turned 18, I joined the Navy.

I had read all the various brochures, but they were the singles who provided classes for heating, ventilation and A/C.

I wanted to be an actual heating, ventilation and A/C specialist, plus I also wanted to be on a submarine, and after going through basics, I was talking to our CO about what I wanted to do. I told them I really wanted to be on a submarine plus I also wanted to be an actual heating, ventilation and A/C specialist, but my CO told me he didn’t suppose I was thinking this over long enough… He didn’t suppose I should be an actual heating, ventilation and A/C specialist. I asked if he thought it was wrong of me being an actual heating, ventilation and A/C specialist, or being an actual heating, ventilation and A/C specialist on a submarine. When he said I was being insubordinate, I saluted plus said yup sir plus asked if I could be dismissed. I swore I saw a smile on his face when I turned around, however I couldn’t be sure, and three weeks later, the CO called me into his office and provided me with our paperwork. It was where I would be stationed plus what our training and/or task would be. The first thing I had to get through was heating, ventilation and A/C school; once I got our certification, I would be really working in the boatyard, plus training on submarines before I was stationed on a single. I hugged him before I had your thoughts on what I was doing. He hugged me back plus told me not to let him down. I couldn’t believe he took me dire plus signed me up for the heating, ventilation and A/C classes, although he sounded like he was totally against it.
